A Collection of Poetry

| About the author: John Steven In those far-off days when everyone knew everyone else, my twin brother and I were born in Penzance, west Cornwall, overlooking Mount's Bay and St Michael's Mount. We were brought up by our grandparents and mother in Penberth valley. It was perfect: lovely people; violets and daffies in early spring; a shining stream at the bottom of the garden; the sea and beautiful beaches on three sides. My brother became a distinguished lecturer and specialist in cancer research. I find it hard to focus just on what I am trying to do. Goodness kindness, and natural beauty attract and move me. My mind strays, drifts, I have always been very lucky. I have had two wives, three children, and four grandchildren: all marvelous. I am most grateful for the life I have had. There is still so much goodness and beauty all around us. |
