Eric Foster was the oldest Parish Councilor, in the country
when he died at the age of 102 year old.
A war hero and local character in Bishop's Cleeve he had written his Autobiography "Life Hangs by a Silken Thread", but it was only after his death did he become recognized and known nationally, with his life story and wartime exploits being told. This was largely due to
many National newspapers writing and publishing his obituary.
We have fond memories of Eric as he was our first author to perform a book signing in our shop, when we first opened

We have a few unsigned copies of his book left.
