Good-bye to Stella Brewer Marsden |
|
| After a long battle with cancer, Stella
Brewer (56) has died. Stella and her father Eddie Brewer, then
Chief of Wildlife of The Gambia, founded the first-ever chimpanzee
rehabilitation program in 1969. The project maintains a web site
at http://www.chimprehab.com/ The project has wonderful African caregivers. Bruno and Rene have each served over 30 years and Edrissa, also a poet and story-teller, over ten years. . |
|
In 1978 Stella wrote a book which was named "The Forest Dwellers". The book became a best seller. We knew Stella as for a short time she lived in Bishops Cleeve. We were privileged when she agreed to attend a book signing, before she returned to Africa. We have a few unsigned copies in the stock, contactus@courtyardbooks.co.uk |

Stella married, in 1977, David, who survives her with her sons, John and Daniel. Her family will continue with her work to ensure the long term welfare of her chimpanzees |
